  • Abstract:

The authors of the article consider for the first time the cases of using “foreign” poetic text in the literary and journalistic works of D. S. Merezhkovsky of the 1900s–1910s. The research establishes that quotations from Russian poetry, the corpus of which has not been compiled before, can function in different ways: they can be a direct source of illumination of a particular topic, a marker of the writer’s antinomic thinking, as well as a mythologeme, the content of which is formed by increasing the meaning and in some cases has autoreflexive potential.
