The article, which presents an overview of the 20th Anniversary Spring Tolstoy Readings held at the IWL RAS on May 21–22, 2025, and dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding scientist, textual critic, and Tolstoy scholar L. D. Gromova-Opulskaya, and examines the presentations of the participants of the scientific conference and analyzes a wide range of problematic and thematic reports. The article reveals the history of the establishment of the Readings and the meaning of their name. The reports included in the conference program were devoted to Sevastopol Stories, the epic novel War and Peace, the novel Anna Karenina, the novella The Kreutzer Sonata, and the drama The Power of Darkness, the writer’s epistolary legacy, memories of him, and critical reviews of Tolstoy’s works. The article also considers Tolstoy traditions in the works of other authors. The reports were devoted to various aspects of the writer’s religious and philosophical views. The round table was dedicated to colleagues’ recollections of L. D. Gromova-Opulskaya, a scientist and a person, a teacher, and a mentor.
